Plot
Noah Ashby spends the unwavering first night upon Halloween in imitation of the girl of his dreams Avery Martin, but she doesn't recompense his feelings. He spends the neighboring-door three years wondering what went muddled - until he gets the rapid unintended to travel back in period as soon as the gain of a photo booth and alter that night, and his fate, on extremity of and highly developed than once again. On Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating to reviews, the film has a weighted average score of 35 out of 100, based on 5 critics, indicating "generally unfavorable reviews."
Adam Devine received immense praise for his leading role as Noah. David Hookstead wrote that Devine "once again proved that he's a rare talent." Decider writer wrote: "Devine’s ability to be charming and endearing shouldn’t be underestimated here, and you’ll be rooting for him before you know it," whilst Age of the Nerd exclaimed that he "carries the whole movie on his shoulders with perfection."
Preston Barta of Fresh Fiction TV expressed their adoration, writing "The chemistry among the actors, charming performances and quotable dialogue all contribute to this being a nice pick-me-up viewing experience." Den of Geek admired the film, stating that "energetic performances and a pivot from the initial premise make When We First Met a largely fun time travel romance." Film Ink praised the characters, that "are not only well cast but change organically through the story; there are no big corny dialogue rom-com turning points, and the characters develop gradually, you know, like normal humans do."
